Sea Point Promenade · Cape Town
Hiking · Table Mountain · Lion’s Head

Walk up into the view

Guided hikes up Cape Town’s two great peaks. The whole city, Atlantic ocean and the wild Cape.

Two summits, one unforgettable city below.

Cape Town is one of the only cities on earth with a mountain in the middle of it. We guide both of its peaks – choosing the route to your pace and the timing to the light, whether that’s a sunrise start or a golden-hour summit. All you bring is a pair of trainers and some water.

The big one

Table Mountain

Climb one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature on foot. We pick the route to suit you — the classic Platteklip Gorge straight up the face, or the more adventurous India Venster scramble with chains and exposure — and time it for the best of the weather and the view. From the top, the entire Cape Peninsula unfolds: the city bowl, Atlantic ocean, the winelands and the wild coast.

The icon

Lion’s Head

The spiral hike every Capetonian loves — winding up the peak between Table Mountain and the sea to a 360° summit: city on one side, the Atlantic and the Twelve Apostles on the other. Short enough for sunrise before the day begins, or at sunset as the moon climbs when the city lights up below. A little scrambling near the top adds just enough adventure.

Good to know

2–3 hours · sunrise, sunset & full-moon options · moderate · headtorch for early/late starts.

Specialised Hiking Expeditions

Beyond the two classics, the Cape hides a lifetime of trails, and our mountain specialist knows them all. The Twelve Apostles traverse, Kasteelspoort and the Pipe Track, the back-table contour paths, hidden ravines and routes few visitors ever find. Tell us your ambition and we will design a unique private expedition around it — a sunrise summit, a full traverse, a multi-peak day — guided one-on-one.

Good to know

Private & bespoke · led by our mountain specialist · routes matched to ambition & fitness · permits & logistics handled.

Off the mountain

Tandem Paragliding

Good to know

Jump off Signal Hill or Lion’s Head, depending on the wind that day, strapped to a qualified tandem pilot, and land on the Sea Point Promenade. What follows is the Atlantic seaboard from the air: Sea Point below you, the kelp forests and the surf, Robben Island sitting out in the bay, and the mountain as your backdrop

You land on the grass on the Promenade – close enough to walk over to TRUTH for a coffee afterwards. No experience needed.

From R1595 · Signal Hill or Lion’s Head, wind depending · lands on the Sea Point Promenade · age 14+ · closed shoes.
